Global Seamless Tubes & Pipes will commission a hot piercing mill at its Mansfield, Louisiana plant in 2027, adding on-site hollow production to the cold drawing, finishing and testing already running there.
What Mansfield does today
Mansfield cold draws, finishes, cuts and tests seamless tube. Every grade the plant produces is eddy-current tested to ASTM E309, and every Mill Test Report states the country of melt, with full heat traceability.
What changes in 2027
Hollows for Mansfield are sourced from qualified mills worldwide, including the company’s own seamless mill in Kolkata, India. Once the piercing mill is running, Mansfield will pierce its own hollows on site, ahead of the existing cold drawing line.
What it means for customers
Until commissioning, orders continue on the current Mansfield route: hollow, draw, anneal, straighten, test and cut. Buyers can contact the US sales team for current sizes, grades and lead times.
The plant sits on the I-49 corridor south of Shreveport, with road access to Texas, Oklahoma and the Gulf Coast.
