OVERVIEW
Two standards, one clear difference.
SAE J524 and SAE J525 are the two SAE standards most often specified for low-carbon steel hydraulic tubing in North America. Both call for tube annealed for bending and flaring. The difference is how the tube starts.
J524 tube is seamless and cold drawn. J525 tube is welded and then cold drawn, so it is a welded product, not seamless, and we quote it that way. DIN 2391 and EN 10305 precision tubes are also available. Every order ships with an MTR stating heat number and country of melt.
